The Highlights of Cataract Canyon

Experience: The Colorado River by Motorized Jrig

Jrigs on Cataract Canyon

Relax: with the comfort of a stable boat

Traveling by J-Rig provides a stable and comfortable rafting experience. It is a larger raft, and ahs the ablitty to carry more items and is maneuvered by a quiet outboard motor. The exclusive design keeps passengers high and drier in the rapids. There is room for up to eight people per boat. More room, more comfort, more fun. It is the best balance for time sensitive people who want to enjoy the remote Cataract Canyon.

Relax on the Colorado River

Experience: Canyonlands National Park

The motorized 'J-rig' allows us to get through the canyon in less time. While there is still opportunity to hike, there may be less time for just floating as well as some camp activities than on the oarboat trips. You'll enjoying the grandeur of the National Park and notice that Canyonlands does not have the crowds that most parks have.

The beauty of Canyonlands National Park

Discover: the Whitewater Adventure

The Colorado River flows purposefully toward its confluence with the Green River, where it doubles in force and becomes the “Cataract,” home of the world-famous “Big Drops” rapids. J-rigs are larger, more stable and comfortable than oarboats. There are seating up front for the more adventurous and palces in the middle for less adventurous.

Fun in Cataract Canyon's Whitewater

There are two different oarboat trips to choose from.

  • The 4 day Cataract Canyon trip is 4 days of beauty and excitement. Traveling on a motorized J-rig through this section of the Colorado River has the perfect balance between serene floating and fast moving rapids. Our professional guides lead you for 4 days through outstanding rapids, surrounded by spectacular rock formations with the look of the Grand Canyon.
  • The 3 day Cataract Canyon trips are more foucsed on the whitewater. There is little time for hike and lots of time for the whitewater.
