Many people no longer speak the language of the
land. It takes someone special to be able to do that. Our guides are
professional, exceptional people with outstanding talents, eager to share their
knowledge, experiences, and enjoyment of life in the outdoors. They continually
strive to perfect their understanding of our wilderness and its secrets. It is
their way of life, and their passion is to share this adventurous way of life
with you.
Sheri Griffith Expeditions is one of the few
companies to row Cataract Canyon all year round. This gives us the most
experienced and talented guides in the industry. Their knowledge and skills
will entertain and make you feel comfortable. Sheri Griffith Expeditions is
very proud of the skills our guides have, along with their ability to row the
most technical rapids on the Colorado River and then create an unbelievable
meal in camp that night.
All ourguides are licensed River Guides. We
require extensive training: Emergency Medical Response, CPR certification and
River Rescue training. Some have degrees in Geology or Natural History, and all
take continuing education courses in natural and human history and science. Be
assured that they all have original personalities, strong commitments to the
earth, impressive leadership skills and a sharp sense of
responsibility.
Guides stay with us for years. We are an extended
family and a part of each other's lives. We matter to each other and people
matter to us all.
But wait...don't take our word for it listen to our
guests!
"I really did not appreciate how well planned the trip was
until I got away from the immediate experience and was able to let it all sink
in. The guides were excellent to fantastic. Quality and quantity of food was
superb, and I am not at all used to that level of service, I was amazed."
-David Gennert, Dover OH
"Thanks for saving Snoozer my bear. She was sleeping in the
raft when she fell out of the raft with no life jacket. My guide saved her,
dried her off and she's glad." -Chrisit age 5
"Fortunate enough to experience a 4 night trip in Cataract
Canyon as part of a teambuilding program
.resounding success from many
reasons, the main one being the river guides
what an asset these people
are." -Radisson Hotel International
"My concern planning this trip was to find a company that was
'open' to working with people with disabilities
All of you were very
accommodating and you never saw the wheelchair as a barrier
everyone is
telling me this was 'a trip of a life time.'"- Wheelchair Fitness Program,
St. David's Rehabilitation Center

another. Our services are carefully designed to provide an outstanding

Our office
staff are not telephone order-takers; they are people who want to contribute as
much as possible to your experience with Sheri Griffith Expeditions. Sure,
we'll send you a brochure or give you directions to the office, or reserve a
tent and sleeping kit for you; that's the easy part. What we really like to do
is talk to you, listen to what you have to say and be a key part in choosing
and designing your outdoor vacation. We are committed to making a difference in
your life.
We want you to jump for joy!
Our guides are
well-skilled in maneuvering boats down rivers, leading hikes to ancient ruins,
cooking fabulous outdoor meals, and all that other physical logistical stuff.
Sheri Griffith's guides have integrity, they are without exception, honorable
people committed to creating the ambiance you need to feel comfortable enough
to jump for joy! They are people you would want to bring on your
