The Colorado River is still fun at
lower levels!! Sheri Griffith Expeditions has cancellced a river
trip on The Colorado River because of the water levels. This includes both very
high water and very low water. The Colorado River runs all year round with the
highest water being in May and June when spring runoff occurs.
Some canyons such as Westwater Canyon on the Colorado River and
Desolation Canyon on the Green River have better rapids at lower water.
Cataract Canyon on the other hand always has great rapids because the Green
River and the Colorado River combine forces before Cataract Canyon.

WHITEWATER RAFTING
SCHOOL
You've watched those sun drenched "Boatmun"
on commercial trips move their crafts, seemingly without effort, through
flat-water and rocky channels, then take on the biggest whitewater of Colorado
River. Did you ever wonder what it would be like to be one of them?
Here is your chance to learn much of the
guide trade. Training includes packing coolers, rigging boats, safety
techniques and river rescue, equipment maintenance and most important of all,
rowing and paddling a craft downriver. This is a full 6-day school with 4 on
the Colorado River in Westwater Canyon and 2 at the SGE complex in Moab, Utah.
This is a wonderful opportunity for first time boaters, seasoned private river
runners, and anyone who has an interest in rafting.
Both men and women are recommended to join.
The class will be taught by some of the best boaters, men and women, on the
Colorado River.
