A Dolores River trip is on the
Way!
Sheri Griffith Expeditions is proud
to offer a 4 day
trip on The Dolores River ~ "The Lost River of the Southwest." Due to years
of drought, the Dolores River typically only runs mid-April through early June.
This year we are offering a 4 day trip launching May 22nd. Don't miss out on
this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity-it may be the last time the Dolores runs in
years!
The Dolores is at first surrounded by
the spectacular Rocky Mountains and then by deep, red rock canyon walls. It is
a river of contrasts, cascading out of densely forested mountains into
beautiful towering red rock canyons. Located in southwestern Colorado, it is
part of the Colorado Plateau, winding through deeply cut canyons and emptying
into the Colorado River just across the border in sunny southeast Utah.
Here in the alpine country the rapids
are numerous and demand full attention, especially when we challenge the
notorious Snaggletooth Rapid. Guides prepare fresh buffet lunches on the
riverbank, allowing time to hike and explore. There are other stops where we
walk to archaeological and historical points of interest.

absolutely excellent the trip was from start to finish. Don and Kate made us
feel comfortable right off the bat and helped us get to know each other so we

was evident all along the way." ~ Amy Schuman -Westwater Canyon
"I knew even before we put in that it was going to
be a remarkable experience having been impressed by your staff and then the

could have made the trip better. The scenery, security, personalities, food and
fun topped all expectations." ~ Margot Levatino, Desolation Canyon
