Imagine an exotic winter trip biking down glaciated volcanoes on the Equator, plunging towards the Amazon Jungle on world class rivers, soaking in hot springs resorts and experiencing the vibe and color of a true Indian market.

The Sheri Griffith Expedition's Ecuador Adventure combines all of that and more in to nine days of fun. On this trip you will see active Volcanoes, beautiful river jungles, fun whitewater and experience the premier Indian market in South America.

Sample itinerary
Day 1 Fly into Quito. Your hotel is a converted mansion.
Day 2 Mountain bike Cotopaxi. Ride down off the world's highest active volcano from 10600 feet to 5000 feet. Bike along the beautifully diverse Nono road. We first climb (in a 4-wheel drive) the steep mountain road to viewpoints high over Quito and the surrounding mountains! Overnight near Riobamba in a pleasant country inn.
Day 3 Whiz down off Ecuador's highest mountain, across high altitude grasslands and past vicuñas 9400-16700ft. Overnight in a hosteria overlooking the beautiful town of Baños.
Day 4 Spectacular drive from Baños to Tena. A descent of the Avenue of the Orchids from the highlands to the top of the Amazon jungle. Enjoy the wonders of the primary forest while learning about the abundant and diverse plants that can be found in the jungle forest.
Day 5 Full day jungle exploration. Canoe ride down the Napo River. Visit the Animal Rescue Center "AmazOOnico". Share with one of the local native Quichua families that will show you their ancestral costumes like gold panning, making of the typical drink "chicha" and blowpipe hunting.
Day 6 Raft Upper Quijos river. Raft mile after mile of fun class IV whitewater through basalt gorges and high jungle.
Day 7 Raft Lower Quijos river. Paddle the big, technical rapids of the lower canyons down to the calmer reaches that host cormorants, egrets and striated herons.
Day 8 Visit Otavalo - South America's biggest and most colorful handicrafts market. Overnight Quito in a converted mansion.
Day 9 Fly home or extend your Ecuador Adventure with a trip deep into the Amazon jungle or a naturalist cruise in the extraordinary Galapagos islands.
