The Family River Rafting Experience:
The 2 day Fisher Towers section of the Colorado River is inviting for everyone, but especially the beginner rafter. It is a perfect trip for families and for people who are interested in a moderate river adventure surrounded by the beautiful scenery of this famous canyon country. This trip is entirely family oriented geared to the family, at a family pace, with family activities, family food, and family caring.
This part of the Colorado River is slow, wide and warm, making swimming extremely fun on sunny summer days. This trip has class I-II rapids suitable for everyone 5 years and older with relaxing oarboats, and playful inflatable kayaks. It's a great confidence builder as children learn to paddle and learn about the river. This vacation incorporates nature games, stories at night, kid friendly meals, marshmallows for roasting and zillions of stars for night gazing. One of the guides is designated the "Kids Guide" offering games, fun-to-learn outdoor skills, nature walks, water fights and sandcastle building. Parents can join in, or enjoy a little private time for themselves.
Fun for the whole Family: The Fisher Towers section of the Colorado has something to do for everyone in your family. For the younger ones the gigantic sandy beaches are a very large playground complete with a personal sandbox. Parents and grandparents will get to enjoy both of the above and some private time while the guides entertain the kids with a variety of fun kid games.
This is typical "Old West" canyon country. Many movies were filmed here, including the classics: "Wagonmaster" and John Wayne's "Rio Grande" and "Commancheros ."
