Cataract Canyon River Rafting
NEW: View the new video itinerary of Cataract Canyon! This
may take several minutes to download, please be patient.
This Colorado River journey through Cataract Canyon balances the relaxation of serene floating with over 20 miles of fast-moving rapids. During high water (May through June) experience the biggest and most challenging whitewater in the U.S. In July the river drops and the rapids become more moderate but are still exciting and you may get the chance to paddleboat these rapids. (Please request if you would like to Paddleboat) There is time for hiking under sculpted sandstone spires as well as visiting ancient Anasazi petroglyphs and granaries. There are beautiful sandy beach camps and plenty of time for all the great hikes and numerous camp activities. Dinner is served on the beach where you will enjoy an incredible sunset. The Colorado River flows purposefully toward its confluence with the Green River, where it doubles in force and becomes Cataract Canyon, home of the world-famous Big Drops rapids. There is time to hike and explore, enjoying the grandeur of the National Park (without the crowds). Traveling by J-Rig provides a stable and comfortable rafting experience. It is a larger raft, carries a few more amenities and is maneuvered by a quiet outboard motor. The exclusive design keeps passengers high and dry in the rapids. There is room for up to eight people per boat. More room, more comfort, more fun. It is the best balance for time sensitive people who want to enjoy the remote canyon wilderness. The adventure continues with a scenic airflight (suggested option) back to Moab over Canyonlands National Park. |
