sold out quickly, so book early!
This special
trip will explore writing and sculpting as complementary forms of creative
expression. Whether journaling or writing professionally, an established artist
or just beginning, the natural world unleashes powerful creative energy.
Personal writing and sculpting time is woven into the moments between floating
down the Colorado River, hiking at your leisure, or relaxing on shore.
Although this
is not a workshop, creative discussions about sculpting and writing will take
place at the river's edge and continue throughout the day, ending with readings
under the stars. "Women rediscover a unique part of themselves in the
natural world," Page says, "and we inspire each other in uniquely
feminine ways."
Enjoy 5 days/ 4
nights on the famous Colorado River. All the comforts are included and the
Sheri Griffith Expeditions women guides are some of the best in the world: fun,
talented, professional and inspiring.
Spectacular
scenery, fantastic whitewater, a Writing and Sculpting Adventure in warm
and sunny southern Utah. Isolated from modern civilization, the red cliff walls
tower 2000 feet overhead, touching that flawless Western blue sky. Here the
famous Colorado River flows freely, undammed and untamed.
The first three
days are spent floating on calm water, giving us time to explore the creative
world of writing and working with clay. Free-flowing writing facilitation is
relaxed but instructive, with time to write as the rafts float between canyon
walls. We'll stop and hike to scenic lookouts and through secret canyons. The
evenings and mornings allow time for journaling, sculpting, enjoying the
natural beauty. As we approach the rapids we'll be eager for some whitewater
adventure.
Campsites on
beautiful beaches along the riverbank are remote so we carry with us all the
comforts we'll need for our stay in the natural world. Every camp is pristine
with only a few footprints of birds, animals or other travelers who pass this
way.
A Note
from Page: Roxanne and Rose are my guests on this five-day journey and
though we will be exploring clay and words the entire time, this is not a
workshop. It is about the gifts of inspiration and rejuvenation that we will
give to each other; which come to us like the river-in gentle waves that wash
the outer world away and let us see more deeply into the heart of our
creativity.
Sheri Griffith Expeditions
brings the experience of 39 years in the outdoor recreation industry to the
"Women's Writing &
Sculpting Adventure" trip. Through out this time we've learned how
to make you feel comfortable and safe on the river. This knowledge has helped
us create comforts that many other outfitters can't provide. We provide
"A Touch Of Class" to every
trip. What does this mean? It's our mission to make you comfortable in the
outdoors. We provide enough civilization for almost anyone to be comfortable on
our river rafting trips. Great meals, cozy clean sleeping bags, comfortable
chairs and professional service-oriented guides create a relaxing and
comfortable camp setting, complimenting the relaxed pace of the day's river
rafting activities
Our women guides are
truly what makes SGRE great. The Women on Adventure trips are guided by
extensively trained and highly personable riverwomen that know this country,
and want to share it with people who want nature to be a part of their life
They are professional, exceptional people with outstanding talents, who are
eager to share their knowledge, experience, and enjoyment of life in the
outdoors. This group of guides is by far the best on the river. They
continually strive to perfect their understanding of our wilderness and its
secrets. This is their way of life, and their passion is to share this
adventurous way of life with you.
